Dear Chaverim,
I want to thank you for being part of Kol Ami. Your support and involvement have helped make the past year truly meaningful — from Shabbat services and holiday celebrations to simchas, educational programs, and vibrant community events.
We’re incredibly grateful to our dedicated staff, our tireless volunteers and committees, and our committed Board of Directors, all of whom make Kol Ami run efficiently, safely, and within a very tight budget.
Soon, we will welcome 5786 with beautiful High Holy Days services, led by Rabbi Lori Cohen and accompanied by Cantorial Soloist Aron Katz, with our sublime choir under the direction of Adine Mintz. Our Hebrew School will begin another enriching year under the leadership of Jennifer Katz and our dedicated teaching staff.
All of this is only possible with your support!
Each year, it costs approximately $3,600 per family to fully sustain Kol Ami’s operations — from staff salaries and rent to educational resources and community outreach. We recognize that not every family can give at this level, and that’s why Kol Ami has a Community Commitment model rather than fixed dues. We are proud to remain accessible to all who seek meaningful Jewish community — especially now, when the world feels increasingly uncertain.
In recognition of rising costs, the Board has set a new minimum renewal commitment of $590 per family. While this amount helps support our basic operations, it does not meet our actual financial needs and leaves us with a continuing deficit. If you are in a position to give more, please consider increasing your contribution. Your support enables us to continue offering the thoughtful programming, music, education, lifecycle events, and the spiritual community that make Kol Ami special.

At a time of growing antisemitism, we are reminded of the power of Jewish community. Kol Ami has been fortunate to welcome a number of new families in recent months — a testament to the strength and spirit of our congregation. People are taking notice. They are seeking connection, meaning, and a place to stand strong — and they are finding it here.
I hope to see you at Rosh Hashanah services, beginning at sundown on Monday, September 22, as we welcome another year together with hope and inspiration.
L’Shalom,
Ed Yudin, President, Kol Ami
