Kol Ami is a true community of learners. As a congregation, we are dedicated to providing engaging opportunities for Jewish learning for all, regardless of previous knowledge.

  • Our weekly Shabbat morning Torah Study, with Rabbi Lori Cohen, lay leaders, and guest teachers. Join us for breakfast at 9:00, followed by an hour of study in person or on Zoom. More...
  • Weekly Talmud Study with Rabbi Jesse Paikin - serious text study with no prior knowledge required. More information and registration.
  • Regular classes and series taught by Rabbi Lori Cohen and guest teachers. Topics span a wide range, including Jewish philosophy, Indigenous issues, the State of Israel, virtual tours of Jewish sites, and more.
  • YorkU@KolAmi Speakers Series - we welcome academics from the Israel and Golda Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Studies at York University to lecture on a variety of topics.
  • Our annual Scholar in Residence Weekend, which brings top scholars from all over the continent to teach our congregation.
  • Our Book Club, in partnership with Shaarei-Beth El Congregation of Oakville, gets together for interesting discussions and delicious refreshments. 
  • Annual Jack Cahan Memorial Lecture - each year on Remembrance Day, we welcome a speaker on a topic related to Jewish military history. Jack Cahan z"l was a long-time member of Kol Ami and a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
  • Adult B'nai Mitzvah - an extraordinary community of learners who commit to the process of exploring Judaism, learning Hebrew, and becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah together as adults.
