Kids & Families

Take one step into our building, and you will feel that Kol Ami is a family of families. Our services are accessible and musical, and children are always welcome!

Our monthly Rock & Roll Shabbat is popular with families. Held at 6:30 pm and followed by a potluck dinner, it is an opportunity to pray, sing, dance, eat, and shmooze with others. Babysitting is offered for children who need a break from services.

Munchkin Minyan, held one Saturday morning a month, is Shabbat for the youngest among us!  The Rabbi leads us in a short, musical Shabbat service with lots of singing and a story, after which we gather for crafts, activities, and a snack. Great for kids under 5 and their families!

Kol Ami's unique Hebrew School (Kindergarten through Grade 7) is held on Shabbat mornings, and focuses on learning through music, arts, games, and activities, as well as providing a solid foundation in Hebrew and Jewish knowledge. Many of our post-B'nai Mitzvah students stay on to become Madrichim (Teacher Assistants), to be part of our Youth Group, and to continue their own learning.
