Volunteer Opportunities

Our congregation is built on a solid foundation of volunteers who give of themselves, in time and in effort. We invite all members to become involved as a volunteer, whether you have several hours or just a few throughout the year to share. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, help others and contribute to the strength of Kol Ami’s community.

Volunteer leaders guide many of Kol Ami’s activities, as directors on our Board, as chairs and members of numerous committees and as participants and contributors to special projects, task forces and event planning. Volunteers lead activities and efforts in everything from education to religious practices, from social action to social celebrations, from welcoming new members to supporting members in times of illness and sorrow. There are so many opportunities to volunteer, such as:

  • Board and synagogue leadership
  • Committees, including:
    • Adult Education
    • Chesed (Caring Community)
    • Communications
    • Finance
    • Ritual/Festival
    • Religious School Committee
    • Relationship Committee
    • Social Action
    • Choir and Music
    • Leading Services and Chanting Torah
    • High Holy Day and B'nai Mitzvah ushering
    • Contributing to Onegs, Torah Study breakfasts and other simchas

If you would like to be a Kol Ami volunteer, let us know what you are interested in doing; or if you’d like to find out more about volunteer opportunities, just call the main office 905-709-2620.
